My oldest brother brought the "Live Dead" LP into our house, on certain evenings in 1970 when he was out i'd sneek into their room, put Dark Star on his Garrard turntable, plug his Gibson SG into the Ampeg tube amplifier and noodle along with Jerry's lines, runs and scales.

That's why Dark Star has such emotional value to me because Jerry was my first guitar teacher.

Dark Star is an intellectual journey similar to many Classical compositions, something you don't necessarily tap your foot to.
